About the Hackathon

MSME Hackathon 5.0 is a national-level innovation challenge hosted by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), where Rabindranath Tagore University, Raisen — officially recognized as a Host Institute/Business Incubator in association with AIC-RNTU Foundation — invites students, innovators, startups, MSMEs, and early-stage entrepreneurs to propose solutions to real-world challenges across various domains.

Key Thematic areas

MSMEs are ideal for low-carbon solutions due to their small, distributed energy needs, where renewables can outperform unreliable grids or diesel. However, limited tech access and rural locations hinder integration—making innovation key to preserving and scaling these sustainable industries.

This theme focuses on innovations in stealth UAVs, electronic warfare, cyber defense, and AI-enabled surveillance to boost national security. It also explores AR/VR-based combat training and dual-use technologies for both defense and civilian applications.

This theme aims to help MSMEs adopt advanced tech like automation, cobots, and digital twins, while leveraging industrial corridor infrastructure. Focus areas include Industry 5.0, retrofitting kits, and GIS tools for better access to shared facilities.

This theme encourages solutions for MSMEs in vulnerable regions like coastal and hilly areas, focusing on climate resilience, disaster-ready infrastructure, and local resource-based models. Key innovations include AI risk forecasting, decentralized supply chains, and early warning systems.

This theme focuses on building agile, transparent, and data-driven MSME supply chains through AI-driven forecasting, smart warehousing, and digital twin models. Key areas include logistics optimization, inventory management, and supplier-buyer matchmaking.
